5th EL*C International Lesbian Conference Lesvos, Greece · 7–17 October 2027
Sappho Travel is delighted to support participants attending the 5th EL*C International Lesbian Conference, taking place in Skala Eressos, Lesvos, Greece, from 7 to 17 October 2027.
Through Sappho Travel, conference participants can:
- request accommodation in Skala Eressos;
- arrange transfers between Mytilene Airport or Mytilene Port and Skala Eressos;
- request information or assistance regarding flights or ferry travel to Lesvos.
All requests are processed manually. We will check availability and send you a written proposal for the requested services.
Accommodation in Skala Eressos
Skala Eressos offers a range of small hotels, studios, apartments, guesthouses and holiday homes.
Accommodation varies in location, room type, bed configuration, facilities, accessibility, distance from conference venues and price.
October falls outside the main summer season in Skala Eressos. Some accommodation providers would normally be closed during this period and must therefore make specific arrangements to open for the conference.
We strongly recommend submitting your accommodation request as early as possible, particularly if you:
- require a single room;
- require two separate beds / bedrooms;
- need accessible or step-free accommodation;
- have a limited accommodation budget;
- are booking for a group;
- wish to arrive before 7 October or leave after 17 October;
- have other essential accommodation requirements.
Airport and port transfers
Sappho Travel can arrange private transfers and, where schedules permit, shared transfers between Mytilene Airport or Mytilene Port and Skala Eressos.
Shared transfers depend on passenger numbers and compatible arrival or departure times. A shared transfer cannot be guaranteed until the travel details and overall demand are known.
Flights and ferries
Most visitors travelling by air will reach Mytilene via Athens. Additional domestic or seasonal direct routes may also be available.
Flight schedules and fares are subject to availability and may change until a ticket has been issued.
Ferry services connect Mytilene with Piraeus and, depending on the seasonal timetable, other Greek ports such as Kavala and Thessaloniki.
Sappho Travel can provide schedule information and, where requested, assist with flight or ferry reservations.
Accessibility
For accommodation and transport, please tell us about the practical features you require, such as:
- step-free access;
- a ground-floor room;
- a walk-in shower;
- limited walking distance;
- space for mobility equipment;
- an accessible transfer vehicle.
We will verify requested features with accommodation providers or transport operators wherever possible.
Accessibility requirements are confirmed only when they are included in our written proposal or booking confirmation.

The conference will bring together lesbian activists, human-rights defenders, artists, researchers and community members from around the world for political debate, feminist discussion, workshops, cultural events, performances and opportunities to connect.
The full conference programme, registration information, scholarship information and accessibility information for conference venues are administered and published by EL*C.
Conference registration and accommodation booking are separate processes.
Registering for the conference does not reserve accommodation. Similarly, submitting an accommodation or travel request through Sappho Travel does not register you for the conference.
EL*C-managed accommodation
EL*C has reserved some accommodation directly for speakers, scholars, invited participants and other conference-related purposes.
Participants allocated accommodation directly by ELC will receive separate information from the ELC team regarding their accommodation, payment arrangements and applicable conditions.
If ELC has allocated accommodation to you directly, please follow the instructions supplied by the ELC team. You should not submit that accommodation arrangement through the Sappho Travel booking-request form.
In some cases, rooms originally reserved by EL*C may later be made available for bookings processed through Sappho Travel.
Where Sappho Travel issues the proposal, receives the participant’s payment and confirms the booking, the participant’s contract is with Sappho Travel.
How the booking process works
* Payment conditions:
- For accommodation bookings accepted on or before 30 April 2027, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total accommodation cost is required to confirm the booking. The remaining 50% balance must be paid by 30 April 2027.
- For accommodation bookings accepted after 30 April 2027, the full invoiced amount must be paid to confirm the booking.
- Flight and ferry tickets must be paid in full before they can be issued and are subject to the applicable fare and ticket conditions.
